You can add a countdown counter to your Facebook page in anticipation of upcoming events. A countdown ticker has many uses, which may include counting down to a loved one's birthday, a long-awaited summer vacation or a business that's launching a new product or website on the countdown date. One Facebook app that offers many countdown features is the TimeAndDate.com Countdown application. This app lets you post to a profile wall, friend's wall, group wall, event page or Facebook page.

Navigate to facebook.com. Log in to your personal account and type "TimeAndDate" into the top search box. Click the "TimeAndDate Countdown" app listing from the drop-down menu. On the next page, click the "Go to App" button and give the application permission when requested.

Fill in the required information in the Event section of the application. This includes the text, location, data and time of the event or important occasion.
Click the customization options for the countdown ticker's design. You can choose from pre-selected themes or choose your own colors for the background and different text elements.

Navigate to the Wall Post Preview section and check the radio button of where you wish to have the countdown counter posted to. For a Facebook page, click the "Fan Wall" option. Otherwise, choose any of the other options if you'd like to post it elsewhere or in addition to posting it on your Facebook fan page.

Click the "Preview & Share" button. On the pop-up box, type an optional message if you'd like to describe what the countdown counter is for. Click the "Share" button when you're ready to post it to your Facebook page.
